Retraction, Withdrawal, and Correction (R-W-C) Policy

PLUSMINUS: Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika is committed to maintaining the integrity, transparency, and reliability of the scholarly record. The journal follows the principles and recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in handling article corrections, withdrawals, and retractions.

Retraction Policy

Retraction is a mechanism for correcting the scholarly record and informing readers that a published article contains serious errors or ethical violations that render its findings or conclusions unreliable.

An article may be retracted if:

  • There is clear evidence that the findings are unreliable due to misconduct (e.g., data fabrication, data falsification, or manipulation) or honest error.
  • The article has been previously published elsewhere without proper disclosure or permission (duplicate publication).
  • The article contains plagiarism or significant unattributed content.
  • The peer-review process has been manipulated.
  • The article violates research ethics or publication ethics.
  • Copyright infringement or other legal issues are identified.
  • Major undisclosed conflicts of interest are discovered that could affect the interpretation of the work.

Retraction notices will be published and linked to the original article. The original article will remain accessible as part of the scholarly record but will be clearly marked as retracted.

Withdrawal Policy

Authors are strongly encouraged to ensure that their manuscript is ready for review before submission.

Before Peer Review

Authors may request withdrawal of a manuscript before the peer-review process begins by submitting a written request to the Editorial Office. The Editor will evaluate the request and decide whether the withdrawal can be approved.

During Peer Review

Once the peer-review process has started, authors requesting withdrawal must provide a formal written explanation signed by all authors. The Editor may approve or reject the request after considering the circumstances.

After Acceptance

Requests for withdrawal after a manuscript has been accepted will only be considered under exceptional circumstances and must be supported by valid and ethical reasons.

After Publication

Published articles cannot be withdrawn. If significant problems are identified after publication, the journal will address them through a correction, expression of concern, or retraction, as appropriate.

Correction Policy

The journal recognizes that errors may occasionally occur in published articles. When necessary, corrections will be issued to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record.

Corrections may include:

Erratum

Issued when a significant error is introduced during the editorial or production process by the journal, affecting the accuracy, integrity, or understanding of the published article.

Corrigendum

Issued when a significant error originates from the author(s) and affects the accuracy, integrity, or interpretation of the published article.

Addendum

Issued when additional information is necessary to clarify, update, or supplement the original article without invalidating its findings.

The Editor-in-Chief, in consultation with the Editorial Board when necessary, will determine whether a correction is required and the appropriate type of correction to be issued.

Expression of Concern

The journal may publish an Expression of Concern when there is evidence of potential problems with a published article, but the available information is insufficient to make a final decision regarding correction or retraction. Such notices will remain associated with the article until the matter is resolved.
