The challenges of mathematics learning in the era of the Independent Curriculum require the innovation of contextual and interactive teaching materials to increase students' motivation to learn. This systematic Literature Review (SLR) research aims to examine the characteristics of instructional design, the contribution of local wisdom content (ethnomathematics), and the effectiveness of the Game-Based Learning (GBL) strategy in mathematics Student Worksheets (LKPD). Data was obtained from searching the Google Scholar database using the Publish or Perish application in the years 2022-2026. Out of a total of 200 articles identified through the PRISMA protocol, 8 main articles were selected indexed by Sinta that met the inclusion criteria and feasibility quality test. The results of the study show that: (1) an effective GBL-based LKPD instructional design is developed in a structured manner through the ADDIE and Plomp models by utilizing tiered print media or interactive E_LKPD; (2) ethnomathematical integration plays a role as an initial psychological trigger that reduces procedural saturation; and (3) the application of multi-level challenge mechanics and group missions in GBL has been proven to significantly strengthen students' intrinsic motivation to reach the "Very High" category (score 3.35). The novelty of this study confirms that the synergy of ethnomathematics as cultural content and GBL as an interactive method in LKPD is an ideal pedagogical innovation to optimize students' active participation and academic achievement.
