PENGEMBANGAN M-LEARNING BERBASIS ANDROID PADA MATERI READING COMPREHENSION PESERTA DIDIK KELAS X DI SMK PGRI WANARAJA, GARUT

Penelitian ini berjudul “PENGEMBANGAN M-LEARNING BERBASIS ANDROID PADA MATERI READING COMPREHENSION PESERTA DIDIK KELAS X SMK PGRI WANARAJA, GARUT”. Latar belakang dilaksanakannya penelitian ini diantaranya rendahnya kemampuan reading comprehension peserta didik kelas X di SMK PGRI Wanaraja, Garut, kegiatan pembelajaran bahasa Inggris yang masih bersifat teacher centered, dan media pembelajaran bahasa Inggris yang digunakan masih bersifat konvensional berupa buku teks. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan tahapan perancangan dan pengembangan aplikasi m-learning untuk meningkatkan kemampuan reading comprehension peserta didik kelas X di SMK PGRI Wanaraja Garut, untuk menghasilkan panduan perancangan dan pengembangan aplikasi m-learning untuk meningkatkan kemampuan reading comprehension peserta didik kelas X di SMK PGRI Wanaraja Garut, dan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan reading comprehension peserta didik kelas X di SMK PGRI Wanaraja Garut setelah melaksanakan pembelajaran reading comprehension dengan menggunakan m-learning. Peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan atau R & D dengan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) dalam penelitian ini. Peneliti melibatkan 33 peserta didik sebagai partisipan, 2 ahli materi, dan 2 ahli media dalam penelitian ini. Dalam proses pembuatan m-learning, peneliti menggunakan aplikasi Microsoft Power Point, I-Spring Suite 10, dan Web 2 Apk. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan m-learning berbasis android dapat meningkatkan kemampuan reading comprehension peserta didik kelas X SMK PGRI Wanaraja, Garut.
The title of this research was “ANDROID BASED M-LEARNING DEVELOPMENT ON CLASS X SMK PGRI WANARAJA, GARUT STUDENTS’ READING COMPREHENSION”. The backgrounds of the research were firstly, the sudents’ reading comprehension of class X in SMK PGRI Wanaraja, Garut were under the standard score, secondly, English learning activities in SMK PGRI Wanaraja, Garut were based on teacher centered, and thirdly, the learning media used by the students of SMK PGRI Wanaraja, Garut in the English learning session were conventional, such as text books. The aims of this research were firstly, to describe the steps of designing and the developing the m-learning application to increase the class X SMK PGRI Wanaraja, Garut students’ reading comprehension, secondly, to produce the guidelines of m-learning application design and development to increase the class X SMK PGRI Wanaraja, Garut students’ reading comprehension, and thirdly, to find out the increase of class X SMK PGRI Wanaraja, Garut students’ reading comprehension after utilizing m-learning in their learning activities. The researcher used research and development method and ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) in this research. The researcher involved 33 students as the research participants, 2 English material experts, and 2 media experts in this research. In the m-learning production process, the researcher utilized several applications, such as Microsoft Power Point, I-Spring Suite 10, and Web 2 Apk. The result of the research showed that android m-learning development can increase the class X SMK PGRI Wanaraja, Garut students’ reading comprehension.
