Studies in Civics Education (SCE)

Studies in Civics Education (SCE) is firmly established as an authoritative voice in the world of civics education. SCE publishes scholarly papers that focus on the teaching and learning of civics and social studies in school settings ranging from primary education to university education. It bridges the gap between research and practice, providing information, ideas and opinion. This journal is designed to stimulate and communicate systematic research and thinking in social education. Its purpose is to foster the creation and exchange of ideas and research findings that will expand knowledge and understanding of the purposes, conditions, and effects of schooling and education about society and social relations. Manuscripts reporting conceptual or empirical studies of social education are welcomed. SCE is concerned with civics education but also welcomes manuscripts on the integration of civics education with other disciplines, in particular, Hisotry, Geography, or, and the arts. Submissions that are concerned with laws (as distinct with civics education) or with general educational matters will not be considered for publication.
