Penguasaan konsep numerasi merupakan aspek fundamental bagi mahasiswa calon pendidik dalam bidang Teknik Informatika dan Komputer (TIK), terutama dalam memahami sistem bilangan biner, oktal, desimal, dan hexadesimal yang menjadi dasar dalam komputasi. Namun, mahasiswa yang berasal dari daerah 3T (Terdepan, Terpencil, dan Tertinggal) masih menghadapi kendala dalam memahami konsep tersebut akibat keterbatasan pemahaman dasar matematika, minimnya akses terhadap sumber belajar, serta metode pengajaran yang kurang interaktif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas penerapan model Cooperative Learning tipe Jigsaw dalam meningkatkan pemahaman numerasi mahasiswa calon guru TIK di FKIP UNPAR, khususnya yang berasal dari daerah 3T. Model pembelajaran ini dirancang untuk meningkatkan partisipasi aktif mahasiswa, mendorong kolaborasi, serta memperkuat pemahaman konsep melalui diskusi dan kerja kelompok. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pretest-posttest one-group design, dengan instrumen berupa tes uraian. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan perangkat lunak SPSS melalui uji Gain Ternormalisasi, analisis statistik deskriptif, serta uji-t berpasangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model Jigsaw secara signifikan meningkatkan pemahaman numerasi mahasiswa, sebagaimana dibuktikan oleh peningkatan skor posttest dan hasil uji statistik (p < 0.05). Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model Jigsaw memberikan dampak signifikan dalam meningkatkan pemahaman numerasi mahasiswa pada materi sistem bilangan di FKIP UNPAR.

Abstract

Mastery of numeracy concepts is a fundamental aspect for prospective educators in the field of Information and Computer Technology (ICT), particularly in understanding number systems such as binary, octal, decimal, and hexadecimal, which form the foundation of computation. However, students from 3T (frontier, outermost, and disadvantaged) areas still face challenges in grasping these concepts due to limited foundational mathematical knowledge, restricted access to learning resources, and less interactive teaching methods. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of implementing the Cooperative Learning Jigsaw model in enhancing numeracy comprehension among prospective ICT teachers at FKIP UNPAR, particularly those from 3T areas. This instructional model is designed to promote active student participation, encourage collaboration, and strengthen conceptual understanding through discussion and group work. The research employs a pretest-posttest one-group design, with an essay test as the instrument. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS software through normalized gain tests, descriptive statistical analysis, and paired t-tests. The results indicate that the Jigsaw model significantly improves students' numeracy comprehension, as evidenced by the increase in post-test scores and statistical test results (p < 0.05). Thus, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Jigsaw model has a significant impact on enhancing students' numeracy understanding in the number system topic at FKIP UNPAR.
