About the Journal
Studies in Civics Education (SCE) is a peer-reviewed publication dedicated to advancing scholarship in the field of civics education. This interdisciplinary journal welcomes research from a wide range of perspectives, including political science, education, sociology, psychology, and public policy, among others. Our journal serves as a platform for rigorous empirical research, theoretical contributions, and innovative pedagogical approaches aimed at enhancing civic knowledge, skills, and engagement among diverse populations. We seek to explore various aspects of civics education, including curriculum development, teaching methodologies, civic engagement initiatives, civic identity formation, and the impact of technology on civic participation. Studies in Civics Education (SCE) aims to bridge the gap between theory and practice by publishing research that informs both educators and policymakers about effective strategies for promoting informed, engaged citizenship in democratic societies. We encourage submissions that address pressing issues such as political polarization, social justice, global citizenship, and the role of civics education in fostering democratic values and principles. Our mission is to contribute to the advancement of civics education research and practice, ultimately empowering individuals to become active and responsible citizens capable of participating meaningfully in democratic processes and addressing the complex challenges of the 21st century.
