Retraction, Withdrawal, and Correction Policy

Retraction

Articles published in Jurnal Inovasi Pembelajaran Matematika: PowerMathEdu (PME) may be retracted if:

  • There is clear evidence that the findings are unreliable, either as a result of research misconduct (e.g., data fabrication or falsification) or honest error (e.g., miscalculation or experimental error).

  • The article has been previously published elsewhere without appropriate acknowledgment, permission, or justification (redundant publication).

  • The article contains plagiarism or significant unattributed content.

  • The research reported violates ethical standards or research integrity principles.

  • There is evidence of unethical publication practices.

The retraction process follows the guidelines and best practices established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Retracted articles will remain accessible online to maintain the scholarly record, but they will be clearly marked as retracted.

Withdrawal

Authors are strongly discouraged from withdrawing manuscripts that are under editorial review or peer-review process, as manuscript handling requires substantial time, effort, and resources from editors, reviewers, and the journal management team.

Authors requesting withdrawal of a manuscript must submit a formal written request to the editorial office stating the reason for withdrawal.

Manuscript withdrawal is only permitted before the manuscript is formally accepted for publication. If a withdrawal request is submitted during the review or production process without reasonable justification, the editorial office may impose administrative restrictions on future submissions from the author(s).

Submitting the same manuscript simultaneously to more than one journal is considered unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.

Corrections

PME Journal recognizes the importance of maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record. Therefore, corrections may be published when errors or inaccuracies are identified in a published article.

Corrections may include, but are not limited to:

  • Author name or affiliation corrections,

  • Minor errors in data, tables, figures, or references,

  • Typographical or formatting errors,

  • Errors that do not substantially affect the validity, interpretation, or conclusions of the article.

Requests for corrections should be submitted by the corresponding author to the editorial office with a clear explanation of the proposed changes.

If the correction is approved by the editors, the journal will publish a correction notice linked to the original article to ensure transparency and proper documentation of the scholarly record.
