Abstract

Students' mathematical problem-solving ability (KPMM) has become an important focus in mathematics education. Cognitive styles, such as field-independent (FI) and field-dependent (FD), are known to influence the thinking process in solving problems. This study aims to map trends, topics, and gaps in the literature on the relationship between cognitive styles and MCA of junior high school students through a bibliometric approach to 65 articles published in the period 2010-2023. Data were collected through Google Scholar using Publish or Perish software and then analyzed using VOSviewer. The results show an increasing trend in research since 2017, with a peak in 2020. The main clusters include cognitive style, problem-solving, and secondary mathematics education. Some topics such as technomathematical fluency and realistic mathematical education (RME), are still under-researched. This study provides new directions for future research and policy implications in developing teaching strategies based on cognitive styles.

Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis (KPMM) siswa telah menjadi fokus penting dalam pendidikan matematika. Gaya kognitif, seperti Field Independent (FI) dan Field Dependent (FD), diketahui mempengaruhi proses berpikir dalam menyelesaikan masalah. Studi ini bertujuan untuk memetakan tren, topik, dan kesenjangan dalam literatur tentang hubungan gaya kognitif dan KPMM siswa SMP melalui pendekatan bibliometrik terhadap 65 artikel yang dipublikasikan dalam rentang 2010-2023. Data dikumpulkan melalui Google Scholar menggunakan software Publish or Perish, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan VOSviewer. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan tren penelitian sejak 2017, dengan puncak pada 2020. Klaster utama mencakup cognitive style, problem-solving, dan secondary mathematics education. Beberapa topik seperti technomathematical fluency dan realistic mathematical education (RME) masih kurang diteliti. Studi ini memberikan arah baru bagi penelitian masa depan dan implikasi kebijakan dalam pengembangan strategi pengajaran berbasis gaya kognitif.
